With hurricane season upon us, you and your community need to be prepared for the worst. And one of the worst things that can happen at a nursing home is that residents or staff members become dehydrated. Keeping adequate water supplies is a challenge and when water is running low, you want to make sure you’re not giving your staff or residents beverages that are dehydrating. For that reason, we suggest you stay away from having lots of available diuretics and that means limiting coffee consumption to a minimum. If you want everyone to stay hydrated, make sure there are plenty of other drink options available, especially good old H2O.
