Effective November 28, 2016, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued its final rule overhauling long-term care (LTC) facility participation requirements for Medicare and Medicaid (“Final Rule”) which will be implemented in three phases. We’ve interpreted the guidelines and put together a summary to make it easier for you to determine if you’re meeting the new regulations.
You must have a policy in place for bringing in food from outside sources. Remember, these guidelines are part of Phase One of the roll-out and must be implemented right away!
